recommend a camera

I'm doing a web design course and would like to buy a digital camera. Can anyone recommend one. How many pixels / optical zoom do I need?

depends what you are trying to take pictures of?

if you want high spec pictures or just average photos?

You got a budget on this?

Nothing really high spec, just a 'good' camera for reasonable all round quality for a website - background, wallpaper etc. Around £150?

For web pics any low res will do but for general use I would go for any Canon up to 4/5 MP - 3/3 optical or more up to your budget including additional batteries and charger.

If you are buying a digital camera, I suggest getting one that will also give good quality for normal photography, not just for web pictures

Have a look at the Canon PowerShot A550; a good camera at a reasonable price; £112.
