I've gotta get away from AOL it's so bad now.
I thought about BT because of the wi-fi option for the laptop when I'm out and about, but I'm open to seggestions.

I will be in the same boat as you at some point, I don't like AOL that much even though its ok, apparently I will be paying £17.99 for 2mb which ott for that price, if I can't talk sense into AOL to drop my price fee, I will be moving to something like Flaconet

Anyway onto your concern if you goto click here take a look at the isp ratings that might help abit.

BT for me, I changed from Tiscali to BT, and I am now getting download speeds of about 7mb on an up to 8mb connection. Not the cheapest option but good and reliable from my point of view.

You can use wifi with anyone

Actully I got AOL down to £9.99 at 2mb After nearly blowing them out, it's relability I need.

I've had BT Broadband for about 8 months and have had no problems whatsoever.

Talktalk3 International, £20.50/month, includes Free anytime calls to UK 01 and 02 numbers + free calls to 36 International destinations, includes line rental and includes an 8Mbit/s broadband connection. Great speeds and reliability so far, don't like Asian call centres though, but I don't expect to use it that often.

have you considered Virgin Media, I have it and it's reliable and fast
