Hie can a computer copy data from a removeable drive eg flash just by opening a file if yse where does it store them coz i don`t want to leave data on my friends computer

No, unless you have done a "save" or "save as", it won't store the file itself. However, you may find that the file name has been stored in "recent files" in the image or text processing program you are using. However, if the source of the file (e.g. the flash drive) has been removed, you would not be able to open it.
