ok just added a usb2 card and a case fan that plugs into a 3 pin socket on the mobo and now computer wont shutdown it just reboots, any ideas and whats the best way to get it to shutdown,xp is running fine and reports no problems, dont know why but my hunch is the case fan.

are you sure it was the case fan socket that youve plugged it into and not a WOL or WOM socket. if youve got it wrong it may be feeding back through the fan and rebooting

no its in the s/fan socket.

I can think of no reason whatsoever that a case fan could cause this. So I would suspect something about the USB card installation.

It's simple to prove it either way, of course!
