Reboot from Bugcheck-Please help

  Antz 15:01 27 Dec 07

My XP Home PC has been spontaneously rebooting from a bugcheck error. I know these errors are notoriously difficult to pinpoint but the toughts of doing a complete reinstall is enough to make me tear my hair out. I have done a lot of configurating with this PC over the past few months, ie Home networking,MS Flight Sim configurations, not to mention the fact that my studies are tracked on specialist installed software. A new reinstall would literally take weeks to get right and I simply don't have that kind of time.

Can anyone please help me to islolate what may be causing this poroblem. I have opened the case, hoover the dust, cleaned and reseated the memory with no success.

XP Home SP2 ( fully updated)
40 GB HDD ( for Backups)
2 GB RAM ( 2x1GB Modules)
nVidia Geforce 6600 Graphics 256MB
Creative 7.1 Live soundcard

Thanks for any suggestions

I noticed in 'advanced settings' that my PC is set to reboot on an error. I have unticked this in the hope that it will get a chance to produce an error message instead of shutting down.
