Realplayer Freezes too often

I use RealPlayer 8 in Windows ME to watch the BBC News. It always starts up OK the first time, but often freezes the second or third time around.

Anyone know what might be causing this?

Hi there

Just seen your post

Realplayer8 had loads of problems and just can not handle the media of today

I would suggest you uninstall that and go for real1 click here

Go to the bottom of the page and install the free player

You can even burn CDs with V2Gold.

RealOne wants me to register with my email address. I don't think I have to, and some of these programs can be a real pain in the neck checking for and automatically downloading updates etc.

What prefernces do you recommend I need to look out for? Is there any point in having Windows Media player installed as well? They seem to overlap to a great extent. I have WMP 9.0 installed and currently use it to play MP3 files.

Keep media player, I think you have to put your e-mail address in to have all the features
