I have some old DBX files from when I backed up Outlook Express about 12 months ago, and I'd like to take a look to see if there's anything of interest in any of them before deleting. Is there any good software that can read DBX files? Thanks very much! -oliverdore->
outlook express will read them for you
you will need to put them in the OE fileswhat o/s are you using?
Windows XP - I considered putting them into Outlook Express, then I thought they needed to be linked to the Folders.dbx file and I didn't want to lose or damage my current OE folders.
ok what you do is this go to C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\string\Microsoft\Outlook Expressnow copy the inbox.dbx or whichever .dbx you wish to readnow paste it on the desktop or whatever location you want to put itNow copy the old .dbx file and then paste it in the location C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\string\Microsoft\Outlook Expresswhen you have read the messages reverse the procedure
OK did it, that worked a treat! Thanks very much to you both.<-oliverdore->
