After several years operation my XL prog has decided to convert spreadsheets in to "read only"

I have no idea why

How can I prevent it?

How can I delete these read only files

I don't know why your files should suddenly change unless you have restored them from a CDR ?

You can change the attributes of the files so that you can work on them. To do do this, right click on a file and select properties. At the bottom you should see a tick in the "attributes" box. Click the box to remove the tick and then click "OK".

Not sure if this is the answer you are looking for but I hope it helps.
