Read Only Files

  birdy11 13:59 07 Nov 07

My OS is Windows XP Home Edition.
Most of my folders on the "C" Drive are shown as "Read Only". I click on properties and untick "Read Only" and include all sub-folders but, they are "Read Only" again if I click on them again. This is preventing me from saving them to CD RW disk.
I would be very grateful for any help in resolving this problem.

You need to go right to the top of the folder tree hierarchy to make sure that "child" folders aren't inheriting the Read Only attribute from "parent" folders. If, after changing the setting, it reverts to Read Only, it is almost certainly because a folder further up is set as Read Only and this has been applied to all its sub-folders and files.
