Reactivating "safely removed "drives

  Rotenone 18:25 03 Jul 05

I have 4 drives for digital memory cards on my computer- labelled Drive F,Drive G, Drive H and Drive I. I used one of them (Drive G the CF Drive) to put some photos in a folder onto the hard drive. In order to remove the memory card safely , I did the operation "safely remove hardware" and all 4 drives are now unavailable!!
(they were all on the same line when I did this.)
How do I re-enable these 4 drives so that I can continue to use them.I do not want to, if possible, to shut down tne computerand restart since I leave the computer on permanently for the running of GIMPS.

Are you sure that you can't get things going again by removing and replugging the particular item?

I have just tried this with the pen memory I had been using and removed. It came was alive again as soon as I hot plugged it back.

For -"It came was alive again" - read "It works"

Thank you for the suggestion. I tried this but no luck.
