Re-registering Windows XP

I have read somewhere that after making a set number of changes to your hardware, you have to re-register Windows XP by phoning up Microsoft, how many changes are allowed and by changes does that also include removing hardware as well as adding it.

It's not nearly as onerous as people make out. Even if you have to phone them (extreme circumstances) they are very cooperative and there shouldn't be a problem.

As -pops- says, don't worry too much about this.

Since I installed XP Home, I have changed, the mobo, the processor, the DVD drive, the CD writer drive and the graphics card, and installed a USB2 card. None of this has called for a fresh registration.
