Re-installing Word

  Spiny 10:59 09 Jun 08

I have Microsoft Works 2006 which contains MS Word 2002. Since installing it in my Vista Home Premium OS I have not been able to open document files by clicking on the file name in Explorer or the Recent Items tab in the Start menu. I have to Open Word first and then search for the document. Also, Word will not open from the Works Task Launcher (error message mentions missing files). I would like to get Word working properly, but I don't need any other component of Works. Is it possible to un-install Word and re-install it from the program disks, or do I have to un-install Works and re-installed the whole lot again?

I would try to uninstall and then re-install. I don`t know if this version of Works and Word will work on Vista though. If you just need a Word Processor that`s compatible with Word Documents try OpenOffice Writer. Definitely works in Vista. click here
