re-installing a Canon BJC printer

was working fine this morning; suddenly says "A file required by the BJ Status monitor is missing. Reinstall BJ printer driver". Is it OK just to put the CD in the drive and repeat the original installation, or is it better to delete original installation and start from scratch?

I would first remove in Add Remove if it's there. Then see if it's in Printers Folder and right click and Delete. Then if you have no other Canon, Hardware go to find or search and look for Canon and Delete all it finds the reboot and install from CD
