Hi there,Can anyone help. I have a PC whish had some serious visus issues, so I went for a re-install. The HDD is 255 Gb, but when installing Win XP Home the only partition offered was 130Gb.Perhaps I was stupid, but I went ahead and Xp is now installed OK, but I have lost all but the 130 Gb.Anyone got any ideas. I guess it isn't the end of the world, but I don't want to lose it.CheersRich
Check first in Disc Management !Start / Right click My Computer / Manage / What is shown ?Are you sure you do not have two partitions ?
Wow, that was fast.It says Capacity 127.99 GB, Free space 125.52 GB, 98% Free
Install service pack 2 then it will see all of your drive.
As Jim says, can you confirm if running sp2 ?If not visit Microsoft updates, install the service pack and updates and reboot.
As jimv7 says, you need to use a xp disc with sp2 on it, you can create one from an original xp disc with sp2 slipstreamed onto it, i did it using autostreamer. have a look here. click here
Excellent! Many thanks guys. I haven't done it yet, but I am sure you are right. I'll do it right after I have sorted the small matter of getting drivers for the LAN card :DCheersRich
