Re-install XP Pro - but NO Network Adapters! Help!

Hi Chaps,
My son has done a fresh install/format on his DELL Inspiron 2200, XP Pro.

Problem is, no network adapters have been installed!! He's looked in the Utilities & Devices disc that came with the laptop, but there doesn't seem to be anythin appropriate. When he DID try and install a driver(??) the pop-up window he got said::
No compatible hardware to be found. The software on this disc does not support this system'.

Well, there certainly WAS network adapters/ h/w on the laptop before the re install!

Anyone got any clues/ideas what's going on here?

Many thanks,

Install it from there. The manufacturers site should aways be your first port of call for driver or hardware issues.

Hi Chaps,

With the help of the link from Creature and others I foundsearching helpforum, the son has got the laptop working fine now. Apparently, Dell have their own set of s/w /drivers etc.

Thanks!
