Random(?) crashing

Dear All,

I think the two might be interrelated but I hope someone can help.

On clicking the My Computer icon (Windows 2000 Professional) the screen loses all its icons etc for a couple of seconds (just the background is displayed) before returning.

Also, when right clicking on a music/video file (I'm using DVDX to play them) the computer often crashes.

I've tried checking for viruses etc but nothing has come up. Any ideas how to sort this out?

Try a new 2000 Graphics driver

where can I get this?

  LeadingMNMs 20:25 01 Mar 04

Well the machines spec should cope with these sorts of files with no probs, so I don't know what to suggest.

You may find the icons take a while to appear, I often have this problem.

the probelm with the icons is not on startup but during a session. If after startup I click on my computer, everything disappears (apart from the background screen).

Can I just download any driver as long as it fits with Windows 2000?
