I have a measly 1.8Ghz Sempron, 512MB system, and recently thought I would stretch out its life span by adding more RAM. I bought two 1GB sticks of the supported RAM as suggested by the MOBO booklet, but I've been having trouble with it. The system boots up nice and quick but it soon gets bogged down and slow. Also I have recently been using Comodo Firewall Pro as opposed to Norton which ran out of subsrciption.

I decided to take out one of the sticks of RAM to see if it had any effect and it seems to be a bit more stable and responsive.

Is it possible that 2GB is too much even though its supposed to support it?
