I used Crucial to check for RAM upgrade and bought 4GB as recommended. I did have 1 GB.

When I click Control Panel/System it shows 2.87Gb

Am wondering where the other 1.23Gb is?

Any thoughts please

32-bit Windows will only recognise about 3 to 3.25GB of RAM, Lady Lara.

Do you have shared graphics memory? Some of the remainder will be used by that.

It has a Nvidia Geforce 6100 with 128Mb Integrated Graphics card.. so...

Say it recognizes 3000mb less the 128 = 2872mb or 2.87Gb

seems about right..... but guess it is still far better than the 1gb i had.

Thanks for the posts though
