RAM upgrade

My laptop (hardly a top of the range or new one) runs on 1/4 GB of RAM. Ideally I'd like to upgrade it to 1GB. However, the instruction manual says the following is supported:

* 200 pin SO-DIMM memory slot supporting DDR266 DDR-RAM.
* It also mentions 2.5V and SOP DRAM

Would upgrading it to 1GB be impossible?

Go to crucial site. Crucial can scan your laptop and identify the correct memory and amount that you can have installed
