HI,

I have ran the crucial ram scan on my computer and i currently have 2gb of ram installed. 2 x 1gb.

I am unsure what speed these are, whether its pc4200 or 533mhz but its all a bit greek to me.

Im looking to upgrade to 2 x 2gb ram and obviously i want the highest speed possible but i dont know what ram i need to buy.

I know i have this motherboard: FOXCONN 945G7MC-KRS2H

What RAM am i looking to buy?

I would jsut like to know what the ram is called and what the highest speed i can run on this motherboard will be.

Thanks

Hi,

Quick update. I currently have 'DDR2-533' ram in my computer.

is it possible to upgrade this to 2 x 2gb RAM sticks with a higher speed like 'DDR2 677' or do i have to stick with DDR2 - 533?

thanks

Hi,

What are '2 x DIMMS'?

does this make a difference on what RAM i buy?

Does that mean i can buy 2 X 2GB DDR2 677 and this is better than getting 2 533's?

Thanks

anyone?

'2 x DIMMS' Means that the motherboard can take two memory modules. In your case it can take two 2GB modules making a maximum of 4GB that it can support. It can take Dual Channel 667MHz memory. It is faster memory than 533MHz memory.

Thanks everyone.

I have found a kit on eBay (brand new and sealed) from the UK and its a Kingston value set...whatever that means.

is that recommended. i know I'm taking a risk off ebay but its loads cheaper...are the Kingston ones any good though?

it's this but LOADS cheaper:
