RAM Query

  The Teacher 21:40 22 Apr 06

I am trying to install a programme that tells me on installation that it needs 384MB RAM to run properly.

I only have 256MB RAM installed and so, perhaps under a misaprehension, the size of the virtual memory to acommodate this.

I am still getting the same message. I was under the impression that virtual memory worked like RAM memory and if so why won't my programme install, or is there something I am not doing?

Many thanks

Virtual memory will not replace RAM when it comes to system requirements as far as I know.

...believe it! It's probably true! And this will refer to physical ram, not phys and virtual. In your case, I would say don't try to install that prog unless you have 512 MB ram - it will need it.
