RAM Compatibility?

Hi, I have acquired some RAM from another computer, and I want to make sure that it is safe to put into mine. If the stick of RAM fits into my motherboard, does that mean it is compatible? Or are they issues using different speeds of RAM?

I know that my current RAM is PC3200 DDR400. Can anyone tell me how to find out the specs of the stuff I've acquired, and what other specs would be compatible with the RAM I already have?

Thanks very much.

I have this type of memory (but it's NOT necessarily the same s that in your machine), but the link may help:

Put it in and see how it goes. It shouldn't do any harm. You will only be limited by the speed of the lowest Ram.
