Hi there, i have recently purchased a secondhand msi k9n sli platinum motherboard, while i was waiting for it to arrive i then bought some new memory, ocz pc2-8500 ddr2 with 1066mhz ram speed. I since noticed that the supported speeds according to the board manufacturer are up to 800mhz ram speed. Does anybody know if this higher speed will cause me any problems or wether i would need to change any settings for my system to run ok. Thanks in advance.

As I understand it, providing your MB is capable of taking DDR2 RAM your stick of RAM will fit and work. It will however only work at the maximum speed of the MB i.e. 800MHz.
