Raid setup

I am about to be lumbered with a reinstall on a friends computer .Running two 20GB hard drives with a Raid 0 configuration. Highpoint controller.
I want to rezize his D:/ partition from 2 GB to about 7GB to allow me to produce a ghost image of his full working set up once done.
Main query i have is do i just use FDISK to rezize the partitions . Or do i need to access the highpoint raid set up to do this .If so what steps are required . I have in the past formated this C: drive and reinstalled on it without needing to touch any raid components . Or would i be better off rezizing the partitions from within windows using a partition tool first.
