Radeon 9500 socket question

  s99Raj 20:04 02 Oct 05

A friend has a "Radeon 9500 128M DDR VO DVI-I" graphics card and wishes to upgrade to a motherboard (the NF4UK8AA-8EKRS) which has a 16x PCI Express slot.

Will this card fit in this motherboard (from Novatech)?

I'm guessing it should be fine.

Depends, I can't seem to find the mobo in question from your info on novatech. Essentially the radeon (presuming it's an AGP type) won't fit into a pci express mobo unless it has an agp slot, which is doubtful.

Assuming its this click here and the Graphics card is AGP then no it will not go in this board as it has no AGP slot

The motherboard is here :

It's PCI Express only, therefore the radeon (still presuming it's agp) won't work fit.

Thing is, I can't tell if it's an AGP Graphics Card or not? How can I tell by just looking at it.

I do know that it came fitted into an AGP (the brown one) slot on a WinFast K7NCR18D PRO motherboard.

If it was fitted into this type of slot then it is AGP and a new card will be required for the new mobo.
