Quicktime & Real Alternatives

I have been reading lately about the above and thought about removing Quicktime from my system and installing both alternatives. My question is how does one configure them properly without making them the default media players. In my case I want to keep Windows Media Player as my default player, however I would also like to listen to radio, as well as use the BBC website to view clips whenever the mood takes me. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. J.B.

In Windows Media Player, select the file types for which you want Windows Media Player to be the default player (Tools > Options > File types tab) and when installing both "Alternatives" untick those same file types when given the option. I use all three applications without problems or conflicts.

Thanks for the advise, I've been looking at Jet Audio and will try that also. J.B.

You could also use Set Program Access and Defaults from the Start button.
