Quicken 2001 problem with re-installation

I’ve been using Quicken 2001 since, well, 2001 and it has run quite happily on every version of Windows since then. Suddenly today, I get the message, ‘Online setup information is missing. Reinstall Quicken or contact Tech Support’. I can’t close this dialogue box and the only way to exit the programme is via Task Manager. I tried reinstalling, but the message is that it isn’t compatible with the version of Windows I’m running – it obviously is, as I’m using it daily.

I know it’s old, but does anyone have any ideas? Luckily, I backed up this morning.

I should add that I've never used any of the online services - downloading from bank accounts etc

Hmm, I've restored the actual programme from an Acronis back up of the C drive and I have a current back up of data, but still no joy. I don't want to uninstall and re-install in case The whole thing goes even more pear shaped.
