Quick Time problems

My PC shows 2 Quick Time installed, one is called Quick Time Viewer, the other Quick Time for Windows ( got the feeling it's the alternative?). Now both of them don't work and show error messages, have tried all following options:
Reload - Process completes but reports errors
Repair - Same as above
I thought of a clean uninstall and reload but: They both don't uninstall, one reports a fatal error during installation, the other says "Installation could not complete due to errors during the installation process, please try later or install Quick Time Viewer"??
They both seem to want to install themselves rather than uninstall.

Sorry about the confused description but how can I uninstall them and reload a clean version of the original Quick Time?
