Question regarding msconfig

I used msconfig to change which programs load on start up - unticked half of them which had the desired effect of speeding up the boot up time.

However the system configuration utility box now appears on start up and I can't seem to make it accept the changes I've made....it asks me if I want to restart to save changes, I say yes but get the same menu back again on restart.

Am I missing something very obvious here?

There should be a message box / dailog box informing you that you are starting up using selective start up mode and a tick box to check if you do not want to see the message again.

Which OS are you using?

Thanks....I was right, I was missing something obvious!!

Didn't read the dialogue box which gives the option of not showing the utility menu on start up...now ticked the box so problem solved.
