A question for BT or ISP engineers

  daba 00:11 09 Jul 08

I would be interested to learn from a reliable source if actually changing ISP's means you connect to different equipment at the exchange, or if the equipment remains the same, but the BT bill is sent to another ISP.

I can't imagine that BT would allow all the various ISPs to rack their own diverse equipment in BT exchanges.

I can imagine that BT provide the broadband modems and routers/switchers, and that ISPs just rent them.

Anyone know the infrastructure used ?
