In the days of CRT monitors it was always trecommended to have a refresh rate of 85HZ if at all possible. Now we are in the era of TFT displays does this advice no longer hold good? Because of the different technology would one normally have a TFT running on a refresh rate of say 60HZ without getting eyr strain?

yeah mine recommends 60HZ. Why would you want 70 or 75 in that case? Mine is capable of 60, 70 75 at its "native resolution" but 60 is recommended. The TFT is a Hewlet Packard vs 17e.
