Query re Adaware, Spybot etc

Not knowing how Adaware, Spybot etc work. If they are run from an Administrators account, does it scan the private files on another user account, or should they be run in each account.

I think that is an excellent question.

I've only just recently noticed for example that (say) Spywareblaster needs running on each account to protect the PC.

My understanding is that any 'scans' will scan the PC covering all users.

the likes of regseeker etc will not have done the job (even thjough the say they have)unless you right click and run them as administartor.

for info I am on both XP on one machine and Vista on another.
