Quality and upgradeability ?

Looking to upgrade my decktop but still have some large IDE drives and some PCI cards from my old machine. I am considering a Packard Bell iMedia A5518UK or HP Compaq Pavilion p6126uk.

What are the iMedia & Pavilion models like for quality and space / free bays / free slots / free IDE or SATA sockets.

ide drives appear to be on the way out as the newer boards don't have a connector. better off transfering the stuff you want to keep to a sata drive as they are faster and larger.

I think most if not all modern mobos will still provide at least 1 IDE connection.

... I was hopeing to save a little money as it's only for storeage of photo's etc.

Yes gengiscant if not I will need to get a SATE to IDE converter for abot £10.

I noticed a motherboard the other day with two of the quite old ISA slots yet it supported Intel Core 2 Quad, Core 2 Duo & Pentium D LGA775 processors !

Thanks folks
