My PVR has just given up the ghost so I just wondered if I remove the hard drive will it be possible to recover the stored programmes.

For instance, if I put it into a caddy would a Windows PC recognize it?

It will see the drive but may not see the programs on it.
Depending on the type of PVr depends on the format the drive uses.

I took a 160G drive from a defunct Tevion and required sigmatel software to read the drive and another program to convert the contents to a different format for the pc to use to show the recorded programs.
