Putting a hard drive in another PC

I put a hard drive which had Windows 2000 installed into another PC (not the same manufacturer + not very different hardware) with the intention of reformating and re-installing Windows 2000.

I didn't get the boot order right so the PC booted from the hard drive. I let it continue to see what would happen. To my surprise, it booted OK and didn't report any driver problems. It seems to work OK. Should I re-install Windows 2000 or leave it as it is?

Windows is not that bad at setting itself for new hardware - especially Win2000 and XP.

However it won't produce a very efficient installation in all probability - so you'll be better off in the long run to do a clean install.

DieSse: that's what I suspected. I think I'll re-install.
