For my grandchildren's i Pod , and for DVD films which I have paid for , I use a (paid for) programme called "CuCusoft iPod video converter". It shrinks a typical film from about 4.5 gig to under 1 gig, and has a setting for the Touch. I have also used it for DVD films etc recorded wuth a DVD recorder. There are copyright issues, but as I have paid for each DVD, I regard the iPod copy as a "back up".

The actual programme is the DVD to iPod converter, see here:

all my dvds are paid for but i was hoping for a free programme to do the converting,so if anyone knows of any good ones, that would be grand.
