Your local Adio store or Maplis mostlikly wil have a lead that has a 3mm stereo jack each end. Plug one end imto the earphone socket of a Walkman or similar and the other end into the Line In on the PC. Windows Media play will import thetake any one of a range on conerters will convert to MP3 or WAV.
It's better if your cassette deck has a dedicated line-out & connect this to the line-in of your onboard sound.
Go to click here & put SID1540 in the box & press the Search button. You'll get the basic connections from cassette/record/CD player to the PC's sound sockets (applies even if you have onboard sound).
Once you get the above correctly wired up, you need some recording software. The free Audacity click here is very good but may need some learning/getting used to. Audacity help: Recording tips click here. More help click here & FAQs click here.
If you want a 'readymade' solution get something like Magix Audio Cleaning Lab 2005 Deluxe (apparently free cables need to be obtained from manufacturer on registration) click here (scroll down for user reviews). Independent review click here. More purchase options (eBay) click here & click here. G
