Publishing a CD - not music

Publishing a CD
If I would like to make a CD about my subject that is not music based, say for example gardening or fishing:- How can I do it without having someone crib it. How can I get copyright, and what is the best way to make good copy to sell? I have published books but know little/nothing about CD's. I have had some of my published written work "pinched" for internet use....but it is not cost effective to follow up on it so far as I know. Immer

I followed up someone pinching a piece I'd written for a magazine and got them to cough up dosh for it. It was a piece about a private island for sale in the Bahamas (yup, I'd been there) for the Sotheby's magazine and the estate agent in Nassau just scanned the whole piece and stuck it up as a freely downloadable pdf. They thought it was OK and were actually rather snotty with me - so be warned, there are LOTS of people out there with no concept of copyright theft.

Take a look here, different sceneario but could be relevant. click here

Copyright is automatically yours and it still may be "cost effective" to sue. It comes under the same rules as your "book publishing". Get friendly with a good Solicitor.
