Protecting what kids view on the Internet

I have 2 kids under 12 and they are starting to use the Internet more and more (as kids do). So I installed K9 (for free) just to help me when I can't monitor what they're up to. Clearly it has its limitations, not Instant Messaging monitoring for example.

Who can recommend a useful software alernative? dont mind spending £20-30 if it works.

Just read the whole of your post, so ignore my comment. Where's the edit button when you need one!

Thanks iscanut - seems Net Nanny comes top. I've just checked out getting that in the UK ( as this is US site) and Amazon etc do it for around £18 or can download it from Downloadbuyer for about the same straight away. So i'll do that I think! Ta
