Projector, Laptop and Speakers

Hi everyone,

Quite an urgent query. I'm borrowing a friends projector this evening and am having a few people round to watch a film.

Everything is almost working fine - projector is coming out of laptop, film plays fine and hi-fi is plugged in to the laptop.

However, I cannot for the life of me turn the sound up - it's coming out to the hi-fi through the headphone socket. Hi-Fi is turned up to max (and it's quite a powerful hi-fi). Laptop sound is up to max as is that in Real Player.

Anyone able to give some advice?

you should have plenty of volume if you turn hi-fi up

No, for some reason it really isn't that loud at all.
