Programmes unable to find CD RW and DVDRW Hardwar

I have an external Iomega super DVD and an internal CDRW and suddenly neither the Iomega Burning Rom or Windows Media Centre are finding them. Both the items are working correctly and are recognised by the other cd and DVD burning programmes. I have tried reinstalling everything but with no results. I can live without the Iomega software not working but I need the WMC to recognise them so that I can transfer my downloaded music to CD, DVD or to itunes.

Try uninstalling the onboard CDRW from Device Manager then restart the computer so it can reset it. It may correct both but try to see what effect first

Try removing the Software then reload it
