Programmes unable to access mscvr80.dll

After runninng Norton windoctor I receive a message that certain programmes (mainly related to Microsoft.Net\framework\v2.05072)are unable to access file mscvr80.dll.and is unable to repair this error.
Searching for Net.framework & mscvr80.dll does not find either of these programmes or files on my computer.
If the dll file is damaged or missing can it be repaired or replaced other than from a system disc?
I am running Windows XP professional SP1
but do not have a windows XP disc, only a system restore disc with factory settings.

Get the dll here; click here

Any reason why you haven't updated to SP2?

Thanks brundle. Downloaded the missing dll OK and this resolved the error message.
The reason I haven't updated to SP2 is that I did this shortly after it was first released which froze my computer and the only way to get into it was by using "GO BACK". I still however lost several working functions which I have never been able to recover.
Thanks again.
