Programmes in previous computers

I have a new computer running Windows XP Home.
Is it possible to copy programmes (Power point and Word from my previous computer running windows 98

If you have installation CDs and the licenses yes.

But you can't just copy them via a CDR and drop them on.

what Jester2K II has advised: you cannot copy programs; you must re-install them on XP.

But I add: make sure you have levels of your programs that are supported by XP.

Just a thought.

Er. Right you'll need the original disks and / or CDs that the programs came on. Put them in the new computer and install them.

If you have programs on your old computer but don't have tne original CDs or disks then you can't.

What i was trying to say was you can't just copy the installed program of you old PC and copy it to your new one. You need the installation CD.
