I have windows 7 64 bitwhenever i open a programme e.g.livemail, IE, media player i get a not responding message and the programmes fail to workthis lasts for about 30 seconds then the programmes open and work corectlywhat is causing this?
Try command prompt and type in ipconfig /flushdns then press enter on the keyboard it should tell you dns cache has been flushed see if it makes any difference.
How much RAM have you ? For 64 bit you need at least 3mb really. Also check if any other processes are running... such as security etc.It sounds like a case of insufficient resources, or those resources being used elsewhere.
thanks flushdns seems to have done the trick
