Hi guys
i have set up a small network in my office & have decided to have 1 pc to act as a storage device. this pc has Freenas installed on it & this allows you to have the hard drive for storage only. the problem is that i am using windows xp & me on the pc's on the network & the communication between them is not stable. there is a note in freenas help that freenas is not stable with NFTS i thought that meant if you formatted the freenas pc to be nfts but now i'm beginning to wonder.
basically what i am now thinking about is buying a server program to run on it instead. i have heard of windows server 2003 but i know nothing about it. can anyone recomend a good reliable one that doesn;t cost the earth?
thanks
