Processor Spike........

  Howling Mad Murdock 17:11 08 Feb 03

For a few seconds at a time at random inervals there is a spike in processor usage, it is breif but noticeable and ver annoying since it cause sounds to "stutter" and whatever programes i'm running will also stutter for a few seconds.

My processor is an AMD XP 2.1 GHZ. I've been using it since Xmas, it worked great initally, but i was forced to go back a registry and thats when i started getting this "stutter" problem. I've tried twaeking many settings, it has eased the spike but not stopped it, i'm quite convinced its a couple of pieces of software clashing, any ideas?
