Processor showing twice in Device Manager

WinXP SP2 Home Edition OEM with all updates.

Just curious, but is it correct that two identical processors should be listed here? I am running a AMD64 X2 4800+ which as far as I know seems to be functioning alright. TC.

Yeah as you have a dual core.

The processor you mention is a dual core version. This is probably why. Windows sees this as two processors instead of one. My second PC is a P4 Dual Core and this shows as two as well.

Yes, happens as you have a dualcore CPU (& a very good one at that!)

If you notice some ATI graphics cards also have this 'unusual' behaviour. G
