processor problem

after constucting a new pc i find that my processor is not recognised as it should be
(amd 2800 xp)instead it was firstly detected
as a 15.9 then 800,then12.50and seems to be different every time i boot up somebody please help me i am at my wits end

boot into the bios, and change the fsb to 166, and the multiplier to 12.5

dont set bios at 166 fsb until you check which cpu you have, as there is a 2800xp which has a fsb of 133. down load aida32 and find out if you have 2800 thoroughbread or 2800 barton.

if thoroughbread set to fsb 133mhz and fsb 166 if a barton.

well thanks for the clues i've sorted it out now.
forum ed, if i had not have posted here i would not have got any response,as my thread on helproom
has had no one even look at it.well yopu live and learn eh.
