Hi there

I'm trying to use for the recovery console for winXP. I have got to the point where I need to type in the Administrator Password, but I don't actually have one, I have never specified one. Is there a default password that I should type it?

The PC is from evesham if that makes any difference.

Any help would be much appreciated.

No password required just hit return.

Are you getting "The Password Is Not Valid"

  Goatee 20:16 19 Dec 03

yep, thats what it say. Any ideas?

You need spcmdcon.sys, download the exe to create the install disks (floppy). Run the
program.
You may use the same disk when prompted for the next disk, because the file
will be created on disk six. Unless you need to install the RC, then you
could use the CD or these six disks.
copy this file to the (hidden) cmdcons
folder.
Reboot and enter the RC.

Got it sorted now :o) Booted from the set of 6 floppy setup disks which solves the bug within XP which denies access to the recovery console even if the admin password is correct. Thanks for the help.
