friend having a problem with a toshiba laptop and reinstalling after i think a virus episode . she dosent know if shes removed the virus or not. she has been using the recovery disk that came with the laptop . any help please

The only suggestion I have is download something like AVG free and let it scan and see if it finds anything.

after reinstalling having probs with only some programmes , mainly internet access of any kind. could i download save and then install the software to run to detect any virusses

Yes you can. Just save the file onto a CD and then install it on the laptop, the only problem is, if you don't have internet access on the laptop you will be unable to update it to the latest virus definitions.

They should be OK. It depends I suppose on whether the disks contain Windows etc. or whether they just install from a hidden partition on the hard drive.
